- This project renovates Ruimei Elementary School’s former kitchen into a multifunctional classroom for art and food education. The original space was disorganized in layout and function. The redesign introduces a clear structure and a playful concept, creating a flexible and imaginative learning environment. -

/Unfolding the Scroll/
The classroom evokes a living scroll: horizontal windows, a pull-down mural, and an L-shaped gallery that rises from floor to wall. Corners frame sky and trees, while shifting light animates the white walls—forming a space that changes with time and use.
/Wandering/
Exploratory elements include a hidden gallery, sketchbook-like doors, a photo booth, message board, and paper that runs the length of the room. Children decide how the space is used—turning the classroom into their own creative ground.
/Spatial Integration/
A new entrance connects to the kitchen, separating storage and utilities with a designated cart zone. Infrastructure is arranged along three walls, freeing the center for reconfiguration with mobile furniture and lighting presets.

This project meets everyday educational needs through spatial clarity and sensory engagement—encouraging children to explore, imagine, and make the space their own.
