We are building soft systems to unfold the not-yet.

| architecture · interior · brand · lab |

We believe space is not an endpoint, but a process of continuous becoming. Between city and nature, culture and everyday life, we search for new ways of connection. Through flexible systems and narrative-driven strategies, we create experiences that resonate with people . OOIS is dedicated to the research and design of experimental, integrative projects, as well as corporate spaces shaped by brand value.

Program: “ Design Movement on Campus ”- Yilan Datong Junior High School Library Project
Year: 2023
Category: Interior Design/Educational Space/Competition
Status: Finalist

- This project is a library renovation for Datong Junior High School in Yilan County. The library needs to accommodate the activities of the Atayal program and a collection of 1,000 books, as well as responding to the relationship between the tribal culture and the natural environment. The site is located near the forest in the back of the mountains, which is the seam zone between the school and the forest, and between the students and the culture. -

We use “watershed” as a spatial metaphor, echoing the image of rivers as a place of settlement, resources and dialogue in the Atayal culture. The design incorporates undulating flooring to accommodate a range of program activities; teaching fixtures are scattered like stones, forming temporary landmarks for reading and exchange, encouraging free interaction and sharing.

The library is no longer just a container of knowledge, but a place for conversation and creation. Through regular exhibitions and sharing of works, thinking and understanding continue to expand.
